Watson’s blistering 185* sealed the series for Australia

Shane Watson smashed a world record 15 sixes as Australia handed Bangaldesh a nine-wicket drubbing in the second limited overs match in Mirpur to seal the series 2-0. Chasing a paltry target of 230 on a slow pitch, Watson made light of the target with power-packed unbeaten185 (96 balls, 15 fours & 15 sixes), the highest ODI score by an Australian, overtaking Matthew Hayden's 181 against New Zealand in 2007.

Yuvraj and Zaheer sealed 80-run win over West Indies; India to play Australia in QF

India beat West Indies by 80 runs in Chennai yesterday and will play Australia in the quarter-finals in Motera on March 24, 2011. West Indies made several changes in the side with Shivnaraine Chanderpaul, Chris Gayle, Kemar Roach and Nikita Miller have been rested. Chasing a target of 269, West Indies were cruising along well at 151/3 in 30 overs with Devon Smith showed courage and character and tonked Indian bowlers to all parts of the ground. But the fall of Devon Smith (81) to Zaheer Khan triggered the Windies collapse with the last 7 wickets falling cheaply for 34 runs.

Canada shot out for 36 in Cricket World Cup history

Canada were routed out for 36 which is the lowest total in Cricket World Cup history as Sri Lanka coasted to a crushing nine-wicket victory in the 18th World Cup Group B match at Paarl on February 19, 2003. Canada collapsed to 36 all out in 18.4 overs before Sri Lanka romped home in only 4.4 overs, completing the second fastest run-chase ever in limited-overs internationals. Left-arm seamer Chaminda Vaas, with three for 15, and his new-ball partner Prabath Nissanka, with a career-best four for 12, made the most of swinging conditions and poor batting technique.

South Africa's dream run in 1999 World Cup shattered in the tied semi-final

This semi-final between Australia and South Africa match in the 1999 Cricket World Cup ended in a tie. A run out in the final over with only one run required prevented South Africa advancing to the final instead of Australia, who progressed to the final based on head-to-head record against South Africa.  The infamous mix-up between Lance Klusener and Allan Donald in the 4th ball of the 50th over had resulted in a run out leaving the match tied in a nail-biting finish.
